The ongoing mega-projects in New Cairo (New Administrative Capital) and other growing cities have become a significant market for Bursa manufacturers. Tourism and Hospitality Investments in the New Capital: In line with the Egyptian government's goal of partially relocating the capital's functions to the newly established city, government institutions, as well as luxury accommodation facilities, hotels, and residential projects, are being rapidly constructed in the New Administrative Capital. These projects have significantly increased the demand for furniture, particularly for municipalities, hotels, and resorts. Bursa companies are leading the way, particularly in exports of institutional furniture for hotels, hospitals, and the public sector. A hotel furniture manufacturer operating in Bursa stated, “There is high demand for the giant hotel and residential projects being built in New Cairo. Egyptian investors prefer Turkish manufacturers for both design quality and durability. We have increased our exports to Egypt by 60 percent in the last two years.” Long-Term Collaborations and Localization Moves: Some Bursa companies are establishing local partnerships or opening small warehouses and offices in Cairo to establish a permanent presence in the Egyptian market. These moves aim to reduce logistics costs and accelerate customer service. Furthermore, complying with Egypt's local regulations and producing in accordance with international standards such as durability and fire resistance are among the priorities of Bursa manufacturers. Future Vision: Industry representatives state that Egypt's new capital city projects are expected to be completed by 2030, creating over 100,000 new room capacity in the accommodation sector during this period. This offers long-term export potential for Bursa's furniture industry. TİMİB officials stated, "Egypt is one of our priority markets, both with its geographical proximity and growing infrastructure investments. Bursa manufacturers are making the most of this opportunity." As a result, hotel furniture produced in Bursa, along with the development drive in Egypt's new capital, is achieving significant export success, both economically and strategically. These collaborations reflect the growing influence of Turkey's "soft power" and industrial strength in Africa and the Middle East.
